This webpage is designed to provide a brief outline of one of the “top” Country “fiddlers” of all time: Norman “Buddy” Spicher. From his roots in northwestern Pennsylvania, he arrived in Nashville in the 1950s, after having his first regional focus via radio station WWVA in Wheeling, West Virgina. While he may have started with his natural roots, within a decade or two in Nashville, he essentially “rose to the top”. Even though he had tremendous “home built” skills which catapulted him into prominence for the touring singers of Nashville, he also studied classical violin playing at Belmont University. He became one of a handful of desired “fiddlers” for Nashville’s recording and preforming/touring musicians, as well as a desired tutor for up and coming musicians.
