Over the last few years, a new all-male Southern-gospel musical group has been created, including members of previous touring groups. Although there are sometimes variations in group membership, the group has the title “Brothers of the Heart”. Additionally, some of their music in performance and recordings would be labeled “country” or “secular” – essentially performing songs from the past – in addition to the clearly Gospel songs.

One of the “previous touring groups” was the Statler Brothers; one of its founding members has been involved in this movement. Also notable is bass singer Bradley Walker, who has suffered from birth by Muscular Dystrophy, and thus is wheel-chair bound. The assembling and support of this movement has come from Bill Gaither, and some of the instrumentalists that have worked with him over the years.
